{"id":3327,"date":"2022-08-09T11:37:44","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T03:37:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/healthandsafety\/home\/training\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T09:06:05","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T01:06:05","slug":"training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/healthandsafety\/training\/","title":{"rendered":"Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Health and Safety have a range of online health and safety training courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Staff can access the course catalogue in <a href=\"https:\/\/staffportal.curtin.edu.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iPerform<\/a> located on the Staff Portal application wheel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students can self-enrol in our training courses in <a href=\"http:\/\/lms.curtin.edu.au\">Blackboard<\/a> by clicking on <em>Organisations <\/em>and searching for <em>Health and Safety Training.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Areas are responsible for arranging training as required for their workers. It is the Line Manager\u2019s responsibility to coordinate training provided by an external source and ensure that records are uploaded into iPerform.<\/p>\n\n\n<section\n                class=\"block cards-image block--no-indent\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n    \n\n    <div class=\"card-grid\" data-card-size=\"standard\" data-card-count=\"7\" data-card-background=\"white\">\n RISE.<\/p><p>For assistance using RISE, please view the online training videos or contact healthandsafety@curtin.edu.au to arrange a time to meet with a Health and Safety advisor.<\/p><\/div><div or have responsibilities for hazardous materials to complete this module.<\/p><p>Develop an understanding of safe working practices in laboratories and workshops when working with specific types of hazardous materials.<\/p><p>Duration: 40 minute online module<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>                    <div id=\"chemical-and-gas-safety\" class=\"card card--image\"\n         data-type=\"img\"><div class=\"card__top image-offset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"card__image\" materials to complete this module.<br \/>\nDevelop an understanding of safe working practices when handling Chemicals and Gases.<\/p><p>Please complete the General Laboratory Safety course before starting this training. <\/p><p>Duration: 20 minute online module<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>                    <div id=\"plant-and-equipment-safety\" class=\"card card--image\"\n equipment.<\/p><p>Develop an understanding of the correct methods for the purchase, safe use, storage and disposal of Plant and Equipment.<\/p><p>Duration: 30 minute online
