Â鶹ֱ²¥ recognises that there may be situations where a complainant may be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • unsatisfied with the outcome reached in relation to your complaint; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • off the view that the complaint was not handled properly or fairly in accordance with Curtin’s policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    External government agencies, such as the Ombudsman of Western Australia, provide an avenue for raising complaints and concerns, generally after a complaint has been made and dealt with by the University. Where complaints are referred to an external agency prior to their finalisation, either by the complainant or the university under a statutory authority, enquiries may be placed on hold or cease entirely. <\/p>\n\n\n

    The office of the Ombudsman also monitor, oversee and review investigations undertaken by organisations into allegations of and convictions for, abuse of children involving any of the organisation’s employees. The Ombudsman may also at any time investigate matters of their own motion.<\/td><\/tr>

The Commission can investigate alleged discrimination on the grounds of race, colour or ethnic origin, racial vilification, sex, sexual harassment, marital status, pregnancy or disability. Disclosures made under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003 <\/em>are confidential, and the person making the disclosure is protected from legal or other action.

    The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003 also provides for the following to receive public interest disclosures of information, according to the issue:

    – The Corruption and Crime Commission
    – The Ombudsman
    – The Auditor General
    – Police
