Will I fall behind? Will the work be harder? At Curtin, the answer is no, and here’s why.

At Curtin, our curriculum is consistent across global campuses. This means the units you’ve completed in Dubai can count towards the same degree in Australia, so your study timeline won’t be disrupted.

The entire transfer process is designed to be straightforward, with support from Curtin staff and agents to help you through each step – from applying to settling in.

There are also scholarships available for campus transfer students, so it’s worth speaking with Curtin staff early about your eligibility.

“Transferring to Curtin Perth has been amazing! It’s so easy to move between campuses – you could spend every semester somewhere new if you wanted to,” says Amy.

Because Curtin’s curriculum and academic calendar is aligned across global campuses, you can continue your degree without repeating units.

Curtin staff and registered agents can guide you through the transfer process.

You will be automatically assessed for the Global Curtin Scholarship when you transfer to Curtin Australia.

Our main campus is in Perth, Western Australia – a vibrant, cosmopolitan city by the water, not unlike Dubai. But the experience of living and studying in each place can feel quite different.

For Amy, arriving at Curtin’s Perth campus left a strong impression.

“The campus is large, the community is so welcoming, and living in Perth has been a great experience – it’s a beautiful city with a relaxed vibe,” she explains.

Amy also found that the hands-on learning opportunities in her degree helped her gain practical experience.

“As an internal audit intern, I experienced how auditing works in an Australian business environment,” she says.

This practical, hands-on and engaging learning experience is something many transfer students say is a highlight of studying at Curtin Australia.

Moving to a new country can bring moments of ‘culture shock’, but Amy found that building a routine, getting involved in hobbies and connecting with like-minded people helped her settle in.

Specifically, connecting with local faith groups and exploring Perth’s many golf courses helped her feel at home.

“One thing I love about Perth is the Christian communities. It has helped me grow in my faith as well as make friends outside of school.

“I also love the fact that Perth has so many golf clubs that I can pick from. I feel as though [golf] is my therapy and it helps me take my mind off a lot,” she explains.

Perth is often recognised as one of Australia’s most liveable cities, with beautiful outdoor spaces, lots of events and festivals, and a strong sense of community.

Whether you’re interested in sport, faith groups, music, food or simply finding a favourite coffee spot, Perth offers many ways to build connections and have fun. And that’s not including the range of student clubs, societies and events on our campus alone!

How Amy’s journey started at Curtin University Dubai
