{"id":17231,"date":"2008-11-04T06:24:56","date_gmt":"2008-11-03T22:24:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/new-curtin-program-offers-year-12-students-real-world-exposure\/"},"modified":"2008-11-04T06:24:56","modified_gmt":"2008-11-03T22:24:56","slug":"new-curtin-program-offers-year-12-students-real-world-exposure","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/new-curtin-program-offers-year-12-students-real-world-exposure\/","title":{"rendered":"New Curtin program offers Year 12 students \u2018real world\u2019 exposure"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"title\">\n<div id=\"titledesc\">\n<p>C291\/08<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span>4 November 2008<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Exceptional Year 12 students will have the opportunity to make a head start  towards their commerce degrees thanks to a new Curtin Business School  program.<\/p>\n<p>The 12 week Marketing Experience Program, commencing in 2009, offers students  the opportunity to participate in an industry-based program and gain an  understanding of marketing principles.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Ram Ramaseshan, Head of Curtin\u2019s School of Marketing, said the  program provided an opportunity for high school students to gain first-hand  experience of university life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe students will apply practical skills to complete a real-life  industry-based case study and network with industry professionals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe program will increase the students\u2019 abilities to work cooperatively in a  team, think critically and develop their analytical skills.
