Curtin Business School accounting student David Taylor is one of only two Australians selected to represent Ernst & Young Australia at a global young leaders’ conference in the United States.<\/p>\n
The International Intern Leadership Conference, being held in August, gives participants the chance to learn about the company’s strategy and vision and is attended by top interns from around the world.<\/p>\n
Mr Taylor, of Canning Vale, said he was honoured to be selected to represent Australia at the conference which will be held in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n
“I’m thrilled to be going to this conference. I have only been overseas to New Zealand, so going somewhere new like Florida is really exciting,” he said.<\/p>\n
“The Conference is a three-day event with seminars, workshops and team building exercises. I’m looking forward to networking with the other interns and learning about different cultures.<\/p>\n
“Hopefully, I’ll be able to make long-lasting friendships with my international colleagues.”<\/p>\n
Mr Taylor undertook vacation work at Ernst & Young earlier this year and after a competitive selection process, was selected to join the company as an intern.<\/p>\n
Originally from Albany, the 21\u2013year-old is currently completing a double degree in Commerce and Agribusiness and will complete his studies in 2010.<\/p>\n
After graduating from Denmark Agricultural College he gained entry to Curtin’s School of Agriculture and Environment (formerly the Muresk Institute) and he later transferred to the Bentley campus.<\/p>\n
Sometime in the future Mr Taylor hopes to set up his own accounting firm and work with agricultural clients.<\/p>\n
