Beautiful detailed creations by local Â鶹ֱ²¥ of Technology fashion and textile design graduate Gabrielle Watts of Watermans Bay will be on show at the Prelude Exhibition that will run from Thursday 4 September to Sunday 7 September in Northbridge.<\/p>\n

Exhibition Coordinator Ms Jessica Judd said Ms Watts is part of a cohort of six Curtin fashion and textile graduates who will exhibit at Prelude that will be open daily from 11.00am to 4.00pm upstairs in Gingers Garage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Exhibition will blur the boundaries between art and fashion and promises to be a prelude to the future careers of talented young individuals like Ms Watts,\u201d Ms Judd said.<\/p>\n

\u201cGabrielle\u2019s career will be boosted by people visiting and seeing some of her detailed designer creations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prelude will be officially opened by Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Jeanette Hacket.<\/p>\n

Gabrielle Watts graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Fashion and Textile Design, 2007 and is looking forward to Prelude.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a passion for construction and design with a high level of attention to detail and over the years my work has focused on transforming new materials and technology into wearable garments,\u201d Ms Watts said.<\/p>\n

Prelude will also feature works by Elise Capelli, Tasha Vener, Amy Clarke, Sophie Webber and Emma Hunter plus images by contemporary emerging photographer Patrick O\u2019Brien who documented the designers\u2019work.<\/p>\n

The free four-day exhibition is a fringe activity to the 2008 Perth Fashion Festival Cultural Program. It is supported by Curtin through the Office of Alumni Relations, by the Department of Culture and the Arts through the Young People and the Arts funding program, and the City of Perth.
