  {"id":17482,"date":"2009-10-20T09:20:13","date_gmt":"2009-10-20T01:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/calling-all-innovators\/"},"modified":"2009-10-20T09:20:13","modified_gmt":"2009-10-20T01:20:13","slug":"calling-all-innovators","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/calling-all-innovators\/","title":{"rendered":"Calling all innovators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This December, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ of Technology students will host the inaugural Australian stage of the international robotics competition, iNexus.<\/p>\n<p>Held at Curtin\u2019s Bentley Campus, this competition is an opportunity for students to build their own robots to contend against other teams from across Australia, with the winners going on to compete against the world\u2019s best in India.<br \/>\n\u00a6lt;br \/&gt; For Curtin\u2019s Mechatronic Engineering Programme Leader, Dr Euan Lindsay, iNexus is an excellent way for the many innovative university students from around Australia to show what they can do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRobotics technology has come a long way in recent years, and it has a big role to play in the future of industry and our everyday lives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is great that students will have this opportunity to show off their skills at a competition hosted by a group of enterprising Curtin students, who have taken the initiative to bring this competition to Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would love to see this become a regular event held here at Curtin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Curtin\u2019s Dean of Engineering, Professor Moses Tade, one of Australia\u2019s 100 most influential engineers, bringing iNexus to Australia is a great way to connect Australian innovators to their peers overseas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201ciNexus started at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in India and involves competitors from all around the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEngineering is an international profession.
