Eastern Goldfields College graduate, Hannah Weickhardt, has been awarded two Â鶹ֱ²¥ of Technology scholarships.<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old from Kalgoorlie-Boulder is the recipient of the Harry Perkins Memorial Scholarship and a Principals\u2019 Recommendation Award.<\/p>\n
“I am ecstatic that I have been awarded these scholarships, and it is a great honour to be recognised for all my hard work,” she said.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019m excited about the whole prospect of studying at the Curtin Business School, both the social and academic aspects of it. I\u2019m also looking forward to completing a degree and pursuing a management career.”<\/p>\n
The Harry Perkins Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a regional Year 12 student, covers student fees each year plus a $2,000 cash payment per annum to assist with other expenses.<\/p>\n
The young leader, who would like to manage a well-known sports team, hasn\u2019t always had her heart set on a sports management career.<\/p>\n
“I had been considering an accounting major, but recently decided I would like to do management because it has greater scope,” she said.<\/p>\n
“I have always enjoyed sport, particularly soccer and touch rugby, and have been involved in refereeing and coaching junior soccer.”<\/p>\n
Ms Weickhardt also receives a one-off $1,500 cash payment as part of the Principals\u2019 Recommendation Award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
