A Â鶹ֱ²¥ professor has been named one of five Australian Pioneers by Scottish whisky company Glenfiddich as part of its One Day You Will campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sustainability Professor Peter Newman was recognised at the Glenfiddich Pioneering Australians event in Sydney on 27 September, for his work and achievements within the Curtin Sustainability Policy Institute (CUSP).<\/p>\n
Professor Newman received an award under \u201cCaring for the Environment in Pursuit of the Public Good\u201d for his contribution to reviving and extending Perth\u2019s railway system.<\/p>\n
Coinciding with the launch of the Glenfiddich 14-year-old Rich Oak in Australia, the One Day You Will campaign aims to inspire people to pursue their dreams and fulfil their own pioneering ambitions.<\/p>\n
Ian Miller, Global Brand Ambassador from Glenfiddich said the company went that extra step to find people who had achieved something unique within their community.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we began our hunt for our Pioneering Australians, we searched for five people that were truly innovative and produced ground-breaking work,\u201d Mr Miller said.<\/p>\n
Professor Newman said he was pleased to receive an award as one of Australia\u2019s top pioneers.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a great honour to receive an award that recognises one of my greatest passions in life, sustainability.\u201d Professor Newman said.<\/p>\n
