  {"id":18696,"date":"2016-10-21T07:12:29","date_gmt":"2016-10-20T23:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/national-marketing-award-humans-curtin\/"},"modified":"2022-12-06T09:19:17","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T01:19:17","slug":"national-marketing-award-humans-curtin","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/national-marketing-award-humans-curtin\/","title":{"rendered":"National marketing award for Humans of Curtin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Âé¶¹Ö±²¥\u2019s \u2018Humans of<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-37821\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG_4829-002.jpg\" alt=\"img_4829-002\" \/> Curtin\u2019 campaign was awarded a prestigious 2016 Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) Award in Sydney earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/curtinuniversity.tumblr.com\/\">Humans of Curtin<\/a><u>, a campaign dedicated to profiling the unique stories of Curtin students, staff and alumni,<\/u> won the Corporate Social Responsibility category, which acknowledges the positive impact a campaign can have in terms of community or social benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Luke Webster, Âé¶¹Ö±²¥\u2019s project manager for the campaign, said Humans of Curtin involved staff and students working together to share stories of members of the Curtin community, alongside an integrated marketing campaign promoting Curtin\u2019s commitment to diversity and inclusion in creative and engaging ways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe transmedia community engagement campaign was developed as a means of connecting with community groups who are traditionally under-represented in higher education and encouraging these audiences to aspire to pursue higher education,\u201d Mr Webster said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt shows that people from all walks of life have something to give and that there are basic commonalities that connect us as humans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo our delight the campaign has also been incredibly well received by current staff and students and has\u00a0\u00a0 created numerous engagement points for the discussion of every day topics, cultural insights and equity issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ty Hayes, Curtin\u2019s Chief Marketing Officer, said the Humans of Curtin campaign reinforced the University\u2019s commitment to diversity and inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile many higher education marketing campaigns tend to focus primarily on academic brilliance, this campaign shines a spotlight on the ways students and staff work to make the world a better place and how their varied backgrounds and experiences enrich the processes of learning,\u201d Mr Hayes said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt celebrates some of the successes that can get a bit lost in our modern news cycle and it showcases a different side to university life that is often unseen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are really proud of this campaign and the collaborative approach Curtin staff and students adopted to achieve this great success.
