Twelve Â鶹ֱ²¥ students have been selected to study at one of the most prestigious universities in the United States next month as part of two competitive international programs attended by high-achieving students and aspiring entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

The International Honours program, run through Stanford University in California, is an eight-week program that requires students to study eight units from across 170 courses. Students will also take part in important cultural and extra-curricular activities that explore the rich cultural, social, and geographical resources of the San Francisco bay area.<\/p>\n

Six of the 12 students have also been selected for the highly competitive Silicon Valley Innovation Academy at Stanford University, where they will be tasked with developing, exploring and communicating a \u2018world-changing\u2019 innovation opportunity.<\/p>\n

Â鶹ֱ²¥ Faculty of Business and Law Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel de Bussy congratulated the successful students, who will depart for Stanford next month.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe application process for both the International Honours program and the Silicon Valley Innovation Academy is exhaustive and extremely competitive, so the number of Curtin students selected is testament to the high calibre of students within the Faculty of Business and Law,\u201d Professor de Bussy said.<\/p>\n

Professor de Bussy added that Curtin was one of 24 universities worldwide to partner with Stanford University, which allows current students and recent graduates from the Faculty of Business and Law to apply for the programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing able to partner with universities around the world offers a great opportunity for Curtin students to learn in different cultures and environments, further maximising their potential and expanding their knowledge and skillset,\u201d Professor de Bussy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of the world\u2019s leading innovators and entrepreneurs, including the creators of Google, Snapchat and LinkedIn, have walked the halls of Stanford University. This opportunity will provide students with a life-changing opportunity to collaborate with future leaders and innovators from around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 12 students are studying a range of business degrees at Â鶹ֱ²¥ including Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Law, Marketing, Advertising, and Business IT.<\/p>\n
