School of Education graduates shine at annual awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The brightest teachers of tomorrow have been honoured at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥\u2019s School of Education annual awards ceremony, which recognise academic achievement and commitment to the field.<\/p>\n<p>Triple award-winner Krystianna Hodges, aged 21, was among the 18 students from Curtin\u2019s undergraduate and postgraduate courses to be acknowledged across 24 award categories sponsored by industry partners and fellow educators.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Rhonda Oliver, the Head of the School of Education at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥, said the annual awards ceremony rewarded the hard work and exceptional achievements of recent dedicated graduates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurtin\u2019s School of Education prides itself on its incredibly high standards and these award-winning graduates have met our every expectation in terms of educational excellence,\u201d Professor Oliver said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are confident that these graduates will make a positive difference in the education system through the impact they will have on the lives of many school students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Hodges, from North Coogee, was awarded this year\u2019s Miles Medal Award for Excellence in Education, in recognition of her achievement as the student with the best overall academic performance, along with two other awards.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Hodges, who is currently completing her Master of Education, said teaching was a shared passion in her family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mum has taught for many years and my sister recently received her teaching qualification so it is very much a family interest,\u201d Ms Hodges said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have always wanted to be a teacher and I\u2019m looking forward to getting into the classroom and applying all the knowledge and skills that I have acquired over the past few years of training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, educating future generations and making a difference to the lives of children is the best career choice possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The awards ceremony was held at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥\u2019s Perth Campus on May 31.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The brightest teachers of tomorrow
