Generous members of the local community have donated more than $100,000 to Curtin FM during the\u00a0community radio station\u2019s annual Radiothon.<\/p>\n
The five-day fundraising event received more than 2,100 individual donations to raise a total amount of\u00a0$104,000 with donations continuing to roll in.<\/p>\n
Curtin FM Station Manager Mr Quinn Glasson thanked the community for throwing their support behind\u00a0Curtin FM during Radiothon.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach year, we are blown away by the kind-heartedness of our listeners and the support shown to our\u00a0station especially during Radiothon,\u201d Mr Glasson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would also like to thank our wonderful volunteers for giving their time to Radiothon by answering\u00a0phones and taking donations and coordinating the event as well as their tireless efforts in supporting the\u00a0station throughout the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Â鶹ֱ²¥ Vice-President of Corporate Relations, Ms Valerie Raubenheimer, said community\u00a0donations ensured the volunteer-driven radio station continued to thrive.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe significant donations made during Radiothon speak volumes about the wide-ranging support Curtin\u00a0FM has attracted and maintained over the years,\u201d Ms Raubenheimer said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery dollar raised during Radiothon contributes directly to the running of the station, and it would not be\u00a0possible without the support of volunteers and dedicated listeners.\u201d<\/p>\n
Curtin FM is Western Australia\u2019s largest community radio station with more than 240,000 weekly\u00a0listeners.<\/p>\n
Based at Â鶹ֱ²¥\u2019s Perth Campus, Curtin FM is a not-for-profit enterprise completely funded by\u00a0community support and sponsorships.<\/p>\n
