including health, commerce, education and online options, building on the iconic campus\u2019 global strengths of mining, engineering and minerals education.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme, \u2018One day, endless opportunities\u2019, will offer prospective students and members of the community a chance to tour the campus, find out more about the many courses on offer and learn about flexible study options for students in the Goldfields-Esperance region.<\/p>\n<p>Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jill Downie said Curtin Kalgoorlie offered a diverse range of online courses, which also gave students complete access to the facilities and services at the University\u2019s Kalgoorlie Campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to the renowned engineering degrees offered at Curtin\u2019s WA School of Mines, Curtin Kalgoorlie offers undergraduate degrees in early childhood education, primary education, health and commerce along with the UniReady Enabling Program\u00a0and Indigenous Tertiary Enabling Program,\u201d Professor Downie said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents who choose from the large number of online courses offered through Curtin\u2019s partnership with Open Universities Australia also have access to all of the facilities available at Curtin Kalgoorlie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to be offering the new Associate Degree in Mining for the first time in 2020 in collaboration with Kalgoorlie Central Regional TAFE, giving students the skills they need to pursue a successful career as a mining specialist or opening the door to further studies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Curtin\u2019s WA School of Mines Kalgoorlie Director Sabina Shugg said all members of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community and neighbouring regions were invited to the Open Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith applications to study at Curtin in 2020 about to open, prospective students can get a close-up look at the many career options available, speak with our expert staff about our courses, mature-age entry, alternative pathways, and much more,\u201d Ms Shugg said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndustry representatives from Newmont Goldcorp, KCGM, Northern Star Resources, Evolution Mining and Gold Fields will also be on hand to offer prospective students a glimpse into potential career opportunities within their sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVisitors will have the opportunity to explore the campus, which has many recreational and student support facilities and quality student accommodation, along with the campus library, free wi-fi, academic student support services, as well as the latest technologies, resources and online collaboration tools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In order to enrol in the two-year Associate Degree in Mining, students must have completed, or be currently studying, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centralregionaltafe.wa.edu.au\/courses\/advanced-diploma-metalliferous-mining\">Advanced Diploma in Metalliferous Mining<\/a>\u00a0from the Kalgoorlie Central Regional TAFE.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin Kalgoorlie Open Day is a free family-oriented event with fun activities, music, food and entertainment and will be held on Friday, August 30, from 10am to 6pm at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥\u2019s Kalgoorlie Campus, located at 50 MacDonald Street.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the Curtin Kalgoorlie Open Day, visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/news.curtin.edu.au\/events\/kalgoorlie-campus-open-day\/\">https:\/\/news.curtin.edu.au\/events\/kalgoorlie-campus-open-day\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Visitors to this week\u2019s Curtin Kalgoorlie Open Day will gain access to the full range of courses available &#8211;
