{"id":19614,"date":"2020-10-23T08:27:55","date_gmt":"2020-10-23T00:27:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-climbs-in-latest-global-university-rankings\/"},"modified":"2020-10-23T08:27:55","modified_gmt":"2020-10-23T00:27:55","slug":"curtin-climbs-in-latest-global-university-rankings","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-climbs-in-latest-global-university-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin climbs in latest global university rankings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Â鶹ֱ²¥ has risen to equal 174<sup>th<\/sup> in the world in the US News &amp; World Report Best Global University Rankings 2021, jumping 16 places from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor John Cordery said the results reflected the University\u2019s world-class performance in research and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am proud to have Curtin again recognised on the global stage and this result is particularly pleasing as the US News Global Rankings reflects both academic research and international reputation,\u201d Professor Cordery said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurtin prides itself on its commitment to undertaking outstanding research that is relevant to industry and the wider community, and is also focussed on making real-world impact and transforming lives. Rankings such as those released today are recognition of this vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am also delighted that Curtin has featured in the top 250 universities in the world for 15 subjects and the top 100 universities in the world for five subjects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Curtin is ranked 24<sup>th<\/sup> in the world for Civil Engineering, up from 37<sup>th<\/sup> last year and 51<sup>st<\/sup> for Geosciences, up from 60.
