Loyal listeners of local community radio station, Curtin FM have generously donated $142,000 towards the station\u2019s annual Radiothon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 2,180 individual donations were received during the station\u2019s week-long fundraising event, which ran from June 19 to 25, with all proceeds going towards the running of the station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Curtin FM Station Manager Quinn Glasson said he was overwhelmed by the result of this year\u2019s call out and the ongoing support from the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe feel incredibly lucky to have an amazing community of loyal listeners who have generously donated to the station, particularly at a time when the high cost of living means many are doing it tough,\u201d Mr Glasson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Glasson said the event\u2019s success was a team effort, with the station relying on dozens of volunteers who gave up their time and energy to ensure a fantastic result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRadiothon would not be possible without our incredible volunteers who have helped us in countless ways, whether that be on air, counting donations, taking calls, updating our social media or just assisting around the station,\u201d Mr Glasson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReaching a total of $142,000 in donations is a brilliant result and I feel so proud of the impact that the station has had on so many people across the Perth community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCurtin FM is self-funding and would not exist without its listeners and volunteers and we would like to thank each and every person who donated or gave up their time to support the station.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
