Â鶹ֱ²¥ has secured an impressive global ranking in the QS World University Rankings (QSWUR): Sustainability 2024, leaping to the top 100 in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now in its second year, the QSWUR Sustainability ranking is designed to measure an institution\u2019s ability to tackle the world\u2019s greatest environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges. Indicators include Social Impact, Environmental Impact and a new category for this year- Governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne said Curtin\u2019s impressive QSWUR Sustainability ascent was a testament to the University\u2019s unwavering commitment to excellence in sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUniversities have a profound opportunity to propel sustainable development forward. This recognition reflects our strategic mission of striving to make a positive impact in the world, through meaningful research and by providing an excellent and equitable student experience,\u201d Professor Hayne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am especially proud of Curtin\u2019s very high score in Social Impact, which placed us 59th<\/sup> in the world from 1403 institutions. In particular, we achieved an outstanding 97.4 per cent for Health and Wellbeing which indicates how effectively we are providing for the wellbeing of our students and society at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUnder the Social Impact banner, Curtin also scored highly in Impact of Education, which reflects our commitment to ensuring future generations understand the significance of sustainability and to fostering a commitment to change.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Multiple changes have been made to the QS World University Ranking: Sustainability since its inaugural release last year and it now includes the following indicators:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Environmental Impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Social Impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Governance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
