{"id":29695,"date":"2025-11-14T11:37:04","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T03:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/?post_type=media-release&#038;p=29695"},"modified":"2025-11-14T11:37:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T03:37:07","slug":"curtin-alumni-take-centre-stage-at-annual-achievement-awards","status":"publish","type":"media-release","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/media-release\/curtin-alumni-take-centre-stage-at-annual-achievement-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin alumni take centre stage at annual achievement awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Â鶹ֱ²¥ has celebrated nine outstanding alumni for their enduring impact across business, health, science, innovation and community service at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/friends\/graduates\/recognition\/alumni-awards\/\">2025 Alumni Awards<\/a> \u2014 including business and governance leader Marion Fulker being awarded the inaugural John Curtin Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a distinguished career in governance, public service and civic leadership, Ms Fulker has driven policy reform and gender equity initiatives across Western Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Committee for Perth CEO and through her board roles, she has played a pivotal role in shaping public discourse and institutional governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now in its 11th year, the Curtin Alumni Awards highlight past graduates who are making significant and valuable contributions to society, be it locally, nationally or internationally in their personal achievements or within their chosen professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Â鶹ֱ²¥ Vice-Chancellor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/about\/leadership\/vice-chancellor\/\">Professor Harlene Hayne<\/a> congratulated this year\u2019s award recipients, noting their enduring influence and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese awardees represent Curtin\u2019s legacy of excellence: alumni who continue to drive change, inspire others and make a lasting contribution to their fields and communities,\u201d Professor Hayne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am honoured to recognise these outstanding individuals whose work continues to shape industries and global progress. Their achievements embody the ongoing spirit of curiosity, courage and excellence that define Curtin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2025 Curtin Alumni Award Recipients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>John Curtin Lifetime Achievement Award &#8211; Marion Fulker AM<\/strong><br>With a distinguished career in governance, public service and civic leadership, Marion has driven policy reform and gender equity initiatives across Western Australia. As Committee for Perth CEO and through her board roles, she has played a pivotal role in shaping public discourse and institutional governance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Community Service Award &#8211; Heribertus Rinto Wibowo<\/strong><br>As a leader in public health and community development, Heribertus has led transformative programs across Indonesia and Timor-Leste. He is a former President of the Curtin Alumni Chapter Indonesia and has mentored emerging social change leaders, championing health, disaster resilience and education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Innovation Award &#8211; Sam Kroonenburg &amp; Ryan Kroonenburg<\/strong><br>The Kroonenburg brothers co-founded A Cloud Guru, an education platform which has transformed how professionals around the globe upskill in cloud technologies. Their entrepreneurial success has opened new pathways in tech education. Sam now leads Cuttable and Ryan heads Kroonenburg Capital to support early-stage founders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Young Achievement Award &#8211; Eldin Rostom<\/strong><br>A dynamic MedTech entrepreneur, Eldin is Co-Founder and CEO of Diag-Nose.io, a company leveraging AI to improve respiratory diagnostics. His work is already influencing global healthcare outcomes, embodying bold innovation and impact at a young age.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Faculty Professional Achievement Awards<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Business &amp; Law \u2013 Dr Agusman Agusman<\/strong><br>As Chief Executive for Supervision of Financing Institutions and member of Indonesia\u2019s Financial Services Authority, Dr Agusman has influenced financial regulation and stability across Southeast Asia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Health Sciences &#8211; Dr Joanne Milios<\/strong><br>Founder of PROST! Exercise 4 Prostate Cancer Inc., Dr Milios has led pioneering health and rehabilitation programs for men recovering from prostate cancer, influencing clinical practice, policy and community wellness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Humanities &#8211; Hazlina Abdul Halim PBM<\/strong><br>As a Singaporean Parliamentarian and Senior Vice President at Teneo, Hazlina has bridged media, public policy and community advocacy. Her leadership amplifies voices from underrepresented communities and advances equity in public discourse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Science &amp; Engineering &#8211; Dr Kawsar Salam<\/strong><br>Dr Salam has dedicated more than two decades to advancing agricultural research and innovation in Australia, particularly in the areas of crop disease forecasting, systems modelling, and data standardisation.
