in higher education equity joins ACSES Advisory Board"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) is pleased to welcome equity in higher education expert Dr Nicola Cull as the newest member of its Advisory Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Cull is the newly appointed President of Equity Practitioners in Higher Education Australasia (EPHEA) and will bring this important stakeholder perspective as well as her expertise to the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACSES thanks outgoing EPHEA president Dr Kylie Austin for her invaluable contributions to its Advisory Board, her commitment to widening participation in Australian higher education and strengthening the links between EPHEA and ACSES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Cull is the Australian Catholic University\u2019s (ACU) Associate Director of Equity and Inclusion and has extensive experience in equity strategy, program design, evaluation and research, including cross-institutional projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is a recipient of the Elizabeth Mary Dodd Prize in Education for her Master\u2019s research on inclusive education and recently completed her PhD at ACU\u2019s Institute for Positive Psychology and Education, investigating the impact of geography on higher education aspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Cull said she is excited to join the ACSES Advisory Board and work with passionate colleagues committed to making higher education more equitable and inclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m also excited to further strengthen the connection between ACSES and EPHEA to help drive lasting change across the sector,\u201d Dr Cull said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Vice-Chancellor and ACSES Advisory Board Chair Professor Harlene Hayne said she was delighted with the appointment , adding it would bring a unique lens on equity in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDr Cull has a strong commitment to inclusive education and a wide scope of expertise to assure progress in widening participation,\u201d Professor Hayne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to have the President of EPHEA on the Advisory Board as we work to transform the Australian higher education landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACSES Executive Director Professor Shamit Saggar said Dr Cull\u2019s leadership in promoting and advancing inclusivity in higher education will be a remarkable asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cACSES is honoured to welcome Dr Cull to the Centre as we strive to facilitate equity and inclusion throughout all areas of higher education,\u201d Professor Saggar
