{"id":13892,"date":"2022-12-05T06:24:18","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T22:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/cisco-webex-scheduled-outage\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T11:24:15","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:24:15","slug":"cisco-webex-scheduled-outage-2","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/cisco-webex-scheduled-outage-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Cisco Webex: Scheduled outage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cisco is moving their Webex cloud service from their Singapore Data Centre to a new Webex Data Centre in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>The migration will result in an overnight <strong>outage of Webex services<\/strong> for Curtin staff and students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When will this happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The outage has been scheduled by Cisco to occur from <strong>7pm (AWST) <\/strong>on<strong> Friday, 3 September <\/strong>to<strong> 8am (AWST) <\/strong>on<strong> Saturday, 4 September 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Once completed, all Webex functionality will return to normal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does this affect you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the outage period, <strong>Webex services will be unavailable<\/strong> to Curtin users. This includes Webex Meetings and Webex Events via the Webex apps or website (<a href=\"https:\/\/curtin-student.webex.com\">curtin-student.webex.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Following the migration, <strong>the Australian toll \u2018call-in\u2019 phone number <\/strong>associated with<strong> Webex Meetings will change<\/strong>. The existing toll number will no longer work for meetings scheduled to occur <strong>after 4 September <\/strong>2021.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-66464 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Toll-Number.png\" alt=\"A screenshot of a Webex meeting toll number\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>What do you need to do?<\/h2>\n<p>If you have Webex meetings (including recurring meetings) scheduled to occur after the migration, we recommend recreating the invite (after 4 September), to enable the new \u2018call-in\u2019 number to be applied.
