While the first-ever UBL Western Derby will take place on Thursday 4 May at UWA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UBL Round 7 <\/strong><strong>Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday 4 May \u2013 Final Home Game \u2013 <\/strong><strong>Curtin Stadium<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women Curtin Carnabys v Fed Falcons 12:30pm<\/li>\n<li>Men Curtin Carnabys v Fed Falcons 2:30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Thursday 5 May \u2013 Western Derby \u2013 <\/strong><strong>UWA Sport and Recreation Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women Curtin Carnaby v UWA Maali 4:30pm<\/li>\n<li>Men Curtin Carnaby V UWA Maali 6:30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The derby is being hosted at <a href=\"https:\/\/g.page\/uwasport?share\">UWA\u2019s Crawley Campus<\/a> and we need as many Curtin supporters as possible to show UWA what we are made of. Bring your friends and show your fellow students support at both games amongst a sea of loud, boisterous orange and black-clad Carnaby supporters! This is the final scheduled week for the Curtin Carnabys unless we make it into the finals. #carnthecarnabys<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hang on &#8211; what is the UBL?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unisport.com.au\/university-basketball-league\">University Basketball League (UBL)<\/a>\u00a0is a national competition providing a pathway for male and female basketball players to study and play for their universities.<br \/>\nUBL is run by UniSport Australia and takes inspiration from college basketball in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin\u2019s Head of Basketball Operations &amp; Men\u2019s head coach is no other than basketball legend Ricky Grace the former Wildcat, NBA star and Olympian.<\/p>\n<p>Jorjah Smith is the Women\u2019s head coach, who currently plays for the NBL1 and is a former player in the UK\u2019s WBBL.<\/p>\n<p>Curtin joined the UBL in its second year this March, along with the University of Adelaide,\u00a0Federation University Australia\u00a0and\u00a0RMIT University. They join the founding universities:\u00a0La Trobe University,\u00a0The University of Melbourne,\u00a0The University of Sydney,\u00a0University of the Sunshine Coast,\u00a0University of Technology Sydney,\u00a0The University of Western Australia\u00a0and\u00a0Victoria University.<\/p>\n<p>Come on down to the Stadium between classes and cheer on your fellow students as they represent Curtin.
