{"id":14129,"date":"2022-12-05T06:25:47","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T22:25:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/notice-of-election-undergraduate-student-member-to-the-university-council\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T11:42:01","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:42:01","slug":"notice-of-election-undergraduate-student-member-to-the-university-council","status":"publish","type":"oasis-news","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/oasis-news\/notice-of-election-undergraduate-student-member-to-the-university-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice of election: Undergraduate student member to the University Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NOTICE OF ELECTION <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ONE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT MEMBER TO THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Â鶹ֱ²¥ Act 1966 (WA)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(for a term of office from 4 August 2022 to 3 August 2023)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When nominations closed on Wednesday, 6 July 2022, two (2) nominations for the election of an undergraduate student member to the University Council had been received.<\/p>\n<p>The candidates are listed below in alphabetical order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Jeremy John <strong>Ash<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Dylan <strong>Botica<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Candidate profiles and photographs, instructions and other requirements relating to the voting process, and the election schedule can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/secretariat.curtin.edu.au\/elections\/ugelection.cfm\">ballot webpage<\/a>. <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Voting Instructions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The election will be conducted using Â鶹ֱ²¥\u2019s electronic voting system \u2018<strong><em>Simply Voting<\/em><\/strong><em>\u2019<\/em>. On <strong>Tuesday, 19 July 2022<\/strong> all undergraduate students of the University will receive a generated email from <em>Simply Voting<\/em> which contains an Elector ID, a randomly generated password and a link to the Simply Voting website.<\/p>\n<p>Please note, <u>the generated email from Simply Voting may be received in your junk email box<\/u>. Please ensure that you check your junk mail if you cannot find the email.<\/p>\n<p>If you have previously unsubscribed to Simply Voting emails received in relation to any other election conducted by Â鶹ֱ²¥, you will not receive an email from <em>Simply Voting<\/em>.\u00a0 <u>In order to vote in this election, you are required to resubscribe to receive <em>Simply Voting<\/em> emails.<\/u>\u00a0 To resubscribe, please contact the Secretariat via email <a href=\"mailto:secretariat@curtin.edu.au\">secretariat@curtin.edu.au<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you have accessed the Simply Voting website, the list of candidates will appear in a random order. If the candidate has provided a statement supporting their case for election or a photograph, you may click on their name to view the statement and\/or photograph.<\/p>\n<p>In this election:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Voting will begin at <strong>10:00am <\/strong><strong>on Tuesday, 19 July 2022 <\/strong>and close at <strong>5:00pm on Tuesday, 2 August 2022<em>. <\/em><\/strong>Please note that Simply Voting will not accept votes outside of these times.<\/li>\n<li>Votes will be counted electronically using the optional preferential system.<\/li>\n<li>You must vote for at least one (1) candidate.<\/li>\n<li>Place the numeral \u201c1\u201d in the box beside your candidate of first preference.<\/li>\n<li>You may choose to express a preference for some or all of the remaining candidates.
