International students come from all over the world. You\u2019ll find people from Africa, Europe, South America, Asia and beyond studying at Curtin. There\u2019s no one \u2018look\u2019 that defines international students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cInternational students struggle with English.\u201d<\/strong><br>Not necessarily! Many international students are fluent or are even native English speakers. Plus, tonnes of international students have already studied English before coming to Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cInternational students might not know much about Western culture.\u201d<\/strong><br>A lot of international students are already pretty clued into global culture. Many grew up with Western media or even went to international schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cInternational students must feel so out of place.\u201d<\/strong><br>While adjusting to a new country can be tough, international students are often just like any other student: trying to make friends, study and have a good time. They bring fresh perspectives, but they\u2019re here to learn and live like everyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cInternational students don\u2019t get involved much.\u201d<\/strong><br>On the contrary! International students are often super active in clubs, sports and social events.
