Experiencing sexual assault or harassment is deeply traumatic, and everyone responds in their own way. At Curtin, no one expects you to process it all at once or go through it on your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Support is available, and not just in the moment you report. Whether it\u2019s the next day, next week or months later, our student support services are here to help you heal, stay safe and get back on your feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes, after an incident, life can feel like it\u2019s spiralling. That\u2019s where the Student Wellbeing team<\/a> comes in. They offer practical, non-judgmental help with everyday challenges that might be harder to manage when you\u2019re dealing with trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This might include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n They\u2019re a go-to team when you don\u2019t know where to start, and they\u2019ll help coordinate support across different areas of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talking to someone can make a huge difference. Curtin\u2019s Psychology and Counselling Service<\/a> offers short-term, confidential support with psychologists who are trained to help students work through trauma, anxiety, depression and grief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can talk to a counsellor about anything, including what happened, how you\u2019re feeling or just how to get through the week. You don\u2019t need to have it all figured out to book an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Appointments can be made:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n You can also request a specific counsellor if you feel more comfortable speaking with someone of a particular gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
