They\u2019re busy roads shared between drivers, cyclists, scooters, pedestrians, and delivery vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why our speed limits are lower \u2013 it creates a safer environment for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Did you know?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A small choice \u2013 like slowing down \u2013 can make a big difference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At 30 km\/h, there\u2019s a 90% chance a pedestrian will survive if hit. At 50km\/h, there\u2019s a 90% chance the pedestrian will die.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most pedestrian deaths occur in 50-60km\/h zones. Slower speed = quicker stop = less close calls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driving 1 km at 50 km\/h vs. 30 km\/h saves only 48 seconds. Is it really worth the risk when travelling from our very south to north-most entrance is circa 1.7km?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So, what should you do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Driving? Stick to the speed limit. Look out for people and bikes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cycling or on a scooter? Go slow. Pedestrians have priority.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walking? Look around, not down at your phone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re heading to class, grabbing lunch, or making a delivery, we all share the responsibility to keep the space safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Let\u2019s look out for each other and slow down.
