This change is about fostering trust and clarity within a modern academic culture and continuously improving our assessments to ensure they are secure, fair, relevant and future-ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What this means for you now in 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nothing changes this year &#8211; keep submitting your work through Turnitin as usual.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your assignments will continue to be assessed fairly and consistently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure you follow assessment instructions regarding the\u00a0appropriate use of Gen-AI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What this means for you in 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nothing changes in how your assignments are submitted to Turnitin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only the Gen-AI detection feature of Turnitin will be disabled, the regular text-matching originality checks will remain active.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your work will still be reviewed for adherence to academic integrity instructions and will continue to be assessed fairly and consistently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We recommend you use the writing tools available to you, such as Curtin Grammarly and Authorship function.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure you follow assessment instructions regarding the\u00a0appropriate use of Gen-AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over time, you may notice new approaches to assessment that reflect how workplaces use digital tools, including AI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Using AI responsibly<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If AI tools are allowed in an assessment, remember:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AI should <strong>support your learning<\/strong>, not replace it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are always responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the work you submit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be transparent about any AI use, following your unit\/course instructions. Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/uniskills.library.curtin.edu.au\/study\/gen-ai\/introduction\/\">UniSkills<\/a> to learn more about referencing Gen-AI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Curtin is committed to ensuring your assessments are fair and that your achievements reflect your own capabilities.
