With thousands of students beginning their university career, Curtin\u2019s Bentley campus was abuzz with activity recently as part of StartUp Week. The bi-annual event kick starts each university semester and combines faculty and course specific advice for new students, as well as information on the university\u2019s social offerings.<\/p>\n

Curtin Connect co-ordinator Scott Morgan said the aim of StartUp Week was to ensure students were able to handle any future obstacles that may otherwise cause them to drop out of university.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe run an intensive orientation because university studies have shown that students who attend orientation at their campus tend to have a higher success rate of completing their studies at university,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Traditionally the Wednesday of StartUp Week is the busiest, when the University\u2019s social clubs take to the main thoroughfare of Sir Charles Court Promenade. This year was no exception, with a record turnout despite the heat.<\/p>\n
