  {"id":7096,"date":"2018-09-24T03:01:31","date_gmt":"2018-09-23T19:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/take-part-emotion-recognition-research-project\/"},"modified":"2022-12-07T13:08:58","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T05:08:58","slug":"take-part-emotion-recognition-research-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/take-part-emotion-recognition-research-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Take part in our emotion recognition research project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are looking for <strong>adults on the autism spectrum <\/strong>to take part in our emotion recognition research project.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this research project is to determine if a <strong>computer-based program and or an online mentoring program <\/strong>will be beneficial for adults on the autism spectrum to explore understanding of emotions and potential tools to cope with certain social situation.<\/p>\n<p>The online mentoring program, MindChip\u00a0is a telehealth intervention, and each participant will meet with a mentor weekly via video conferencing (i.e. ZOOM, similar to Skype). The intervention modules are aimed towards exploring tools for emotion recognition and developing a toolbox of strategies to cope with potentially difficult situations.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will participate in an initial assessment to confirm eligibility, randomly allocated to the computer program and online mentoring group OR computer-program only group for 10 weeks, and a follow-up assessment after the intervention.
