software search tool for Curtin computer labs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is happening?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Digital &amp; Technology Solutions has developed a simple way to locate software installed on lab computers.<\/p>\n<p>This new, web-based tool, called <strong>Find Lab Software<\/strong>, can be used to locate specific software on lab computers, or determine if a teaching lab has the required software for a class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does it affect you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All staff and students using computers on the Curtin network (not available from home), can access this useful tool via the URL <a href=\"https:\/\/software.moe.curtin.edu.au\/\">https:\/\/software.moe.curtin.edu.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do I need to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are looking for particular software that may be available on a lab computer, simply enter the URL above and search for the name in the search window.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-59020 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Search-image-336x238.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"395\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The results will display a list of available applications matching your search.\u00a0 Clicking on the <strong>+\u00a0<\/strong>symbols at the beginning of a line, will expand the list to show all the building and room locations that have the software installed, as well as a count of the number of PCs at that location.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-59021 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/search-results-336x212.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The additional reporting feature (via the bar graph icon indicated above), also makes it easy for teaching staff to see if a particular lab has the required software.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-59022 are interested in from the dropdown (indicated at 1 above) and click <strong>View Report <\/strong>(indicated at 2
