Digital & Technology Solutions has implemented\u00a0<\/span>guest access for\u00a0<\/span><\/b>students in\u00a0<\/span><\/b>MS\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Teams<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>enabling\u00a0<\/span>another option for\u00a0<\/span>online\u00a0<\/span>collaboration\u00a0<\/span>between staff and students.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Students can now\u00a0<\/span>participate in chats, calls and meetings<\/span>, where they have been invited by a Curtin staff member<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0This feature also allows access to\u00a0<\/span>accept\u00a0<\/span>remote assist<\/span>ance<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>by sharing your\u00a0<\/span>computer screen<\/span>\u00a0with a staff member<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Currently,\u00a0<\/span>access is limited\u00a0<\/span>to students\u00a0<\/span>as a\u00a0<\/span>guest<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>within\u00a0<\/span>MS Teams.\u00a0<\/span>Students\u00a0<\/span>do not<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>have\u00a0<\/span>MS Teams<\/span>\u00a0accounts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n How does it work?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Meetings<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When invited by a s<\/span>taff\u00a0<\/span>member\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>participate in\u00a0<\/span>a MS Teams meeting<\/span>, you will receive an\u00a0<\/span>email\u00a0<\/span>to your\u00a0<\/span>Curtin\u00a0<\/span>email account with a link to join the meeting.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When\u00a0<\/span>you\u00a0<\/span>join,\u00a0<\/span>you\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>be placed<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in the lobby<\/span>\u00a0of the meeting<\/span>, until the host\u00a0<\/span>(staff member)\u00a0<\/span>is ready to\u00a0<\/span>accept\u00a0<\/span>you\u00a0<\/span>into the meeting.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Teams<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Similarly\u00a0to meetings<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>you can also be added\u00a0<\/span>as a guest\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>join\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>\u2018t<\/span>eam<\/span>\u2019<\/span>, enabling you\u00a0<\/span>to collaborate and share documents<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>When\u00a0<\/span>added to a team\u00a0<\/span>by a Curtin staff member, you will be\u00a0<\/span>notified\u00a0<\/span>by email\u00a0<\/span>to your\u00a0<\/span>Curtin email address.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What are the benefits<\/span><\/b>?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Further information<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n R<\/span>efer to the following\u00a0<\/span>user guides<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>for advice on how to use MS Teams<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
