As has been widely publicised, there is a Black Lives Matter rally in Perth this weekend, following protests against racial inequality and police brutality around the country and, indeed, around the world.<\/p>\n
Curtin has always had an open and inclusive ethos, welcoming people from all races and cultures.\u00a0 We also have a long history of supporting reconciliation, Indigenous education and culture, and are very proud to be one of a small number of organisations with an Elevate level Reconciliation Action Plan.\u00a0 We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are deeply committed to building a culture that respects and values all peoples regardless of race.<\/p>\n
The health and wellbeing of our whole Curtin community is very important to us. If you are planning on attending this weekend\u2019s rally, which is likely to result in a crowded environment, you are encouraged to observe physical distancing and other COVID-19 precautions to minimise the risks to your own health and the health of those you care for.<\/p>\n
