It stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual\/Aromantic.<\/p>\n<p>LGBTQIA+ is a shortened version of the full acronym that encompasses many identities, including Questioning (Q), Pansexual (P), Non-Binary (NB), Brotherboy (BB), Sistergirl (SG), and many more. Someone\u2019s gender identity can be different to their biological sex.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Gender-expression\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Gender-expression\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Gender-expression\">Gender expression<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Gender-expression\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Gender expression is how someone outwardly expresses their gender, for example:<\/p>\n<p>Masculine: qualities or appearance we usually associate with men.<\/p>\n<p>Feminine: qualities or appearance we usually associate with women.<\/p>\n<p>Androgynous: qualities or appearance that combine masculine and feminine characteristics into an ambiguous form.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Sex\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Sex\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Sex\">Sex<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Sex\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>A person\u2019s sex is based on biological characteristics like their chromosomes, hormones and reproductive organs. It is usually assigned at birth as either male, female or intersex, but a person\u2019s sex can change over the course of their life and may differ from their sex recorded at birth.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Queer\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Queer\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Queer\">Queer<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Queer\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Queer is sometimes used as an umbrella term for people who are not heterosexual or cisgender. It has historically been used negatively to describe those with same sex desires, but began to be reclaimed by activists in the 1980s and is now used by many in the LGBTQIA+ community.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that some people still dislike this term, because of its history.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Gender\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Gender\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Gender\">Gender<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Gender\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Gender is about social characteristics of a person. It can include people questioning their gender and people who identify as trans or transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, gender non-conforming and more.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Non-binary\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Non-binary\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Non-binary\">Non-binary<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Non-binary\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Genders that sit outside of the man\/woman binary are often called non-binary.
