You will be in control the whole time, and can opt in or out of any step.<\/p><\/div><ul class=\"card__links\"><li><a\n    href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/personal-support\/respectful-relationships\/after-you-report\/\"\n    class=\"ico-link--arrow\"\n    target=\"_top\" aria-label=\"See the process after making a report\">See the process after making a report<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>            <\/div>\n<\/mimas-block>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is gender-based violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault and consent?<\/h2>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"cards\"\n        data-segment=\"dom\">\n\n    \n\n        <div class=\"card-grid\"\n         data-card-size=\"standard\"         data-card-count=\"3\"\n         data-card-background=\"gray\">\n                    <div  id=\"gender-based-violence\" class=\"card\" data-type=\"\" aria-label=\"gender-based-violence\"><div class=\"inner\"><div class=\"card__title\"><h3>Gender-based violence<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"card__content\"><p>Gender-based violence means any form of physical or non physical violence, harassment, abuse or threats, based on gender, that results in, or is likely to result in, harm, coercion, control, fear or deprivation of liberty or autonomy.<\/p><p>Gender-based violence can be physical, verbal, sexual, emotional, mental, socio-cultural, spiritual, and\/or financial, and it can happen both in person and through digital technology &#8211; such as social media and apps.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>                    <div  id=\"sexual-harassment\" class=\"card\" data-type=\"\" aria-label=\"sexual-harassment\"><div class=\"inner\"><div class=\"card__title\"><h3>Sexual harassment<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"card__content\"><p>Sexual harassment is defined as any unwanted or unwelcome sexual behaviour, which makes a person feel offended, humiliated or intimidated. In other words, that they give their full consent. It\u2019s important that you are 100% sure that the person you\u2019re with is happy and willing because non-consensual sexual activity (even kissing and touching) is actually against the law.<\/p>\n<p>Not only is sex without consent a crime, but being pressured or forced into a sexual situation you\u2019re not ready for (also known as sexual assault) can do lasting emotional damage. It\u2019s not enough to just assume someone wants sex as much as you, you really have to ask.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n                    \n                                \n                        <\/article>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/mimas-block>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sexual health resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can access a range of sexual health services at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/personal-support\/health\/medical-centre\/\">Curtin Health Service<\/a> or contact your preferred medical practice to enquire about the following services:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>STI testing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PrEP and PEP assessments and prescribed medication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical\/emotional support for sexual assault&nbsp;including&nbsp;referrals to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kemh.health.wa.gov.au\/other-services\/sarc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SARC<\/a> and information about where to get a sexual assault forensic kit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contraception, including Implanon insertion and removal, contraceptive pill prescriptions, and Depo-Provera injections.
