{"id":4939,"date":"2021-11-16T16:00:49","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T08:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/?page_id=4939"},"modified":"2024-12-11T13:06:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T05:06:03","slug":"refund-and-remission-of-fees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/fees\/refund-and-remission-of-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"Refund and remission of fees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2021\/11\/AMMON-20210914-Curtin-Student_Engagement-Shoot01-Tue14-0789_1500-2-aspect-ratio-2-1.jpg.optimal.jpg\" alt=\"Three people walking down a corridor blurred from movement\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have available credit on your student account and wish to have it refunded, you may apply for a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Refund or remission of fees due to special circumstances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply for a refund or remission of fees if you have experienced an adverse and unexpected event that has had a significant impact on your studies after the census date of a particular study period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply you must be able to provide evidence that the circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Were beyond your control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did not make their full impact known until on or after the census date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Affected you to the extent that you were unable to complete the requirements of the unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your application is approved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your financial penalty will be removed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be eligible for a refund or remission of debt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A unit withdrawal (WD on your academic record) may be applied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to apply for multiple study periods, a separate application and supporting documentation must be submitted for each individual study period.
