Withdrawing or suspending your studies will affect your visa, and may extend you normal course duration so you may require a new student visa to complete your course.<\/p>\n<p>If you are granted permission to withdraw from a units, it is advised that you follow the advice outlined in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/managing-your-course\/withdrawal\/\" rel=\"noopener\">before you withdraw<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Enrolment-study-load\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Enrolment-study-load\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Enrolment-study-load\">Enrolment study load<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Enrolment-study-load\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>With the exception of a small number of courses the enrolment load required under a student visa is 100 credits per semester.<\/p>\n<p>For further information about study loads and how to apply for a reduced study load visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/managing-your-course\/study-load\/\" rel=\"noopener\">study load page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Attendance-mode\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Attendance-mode\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Attendance-mode\">Attendance mode<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Attendance-mode\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>International students on student visas are required to enrol in face-to-face internal study, however you may be able to enrol in external or fully online units providing they meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">You can only enrol in a maximum of one third of your total course externally or online.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">You must maintain at least one internal unit enrolment per study period.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are planning to undertake external or fully online units you must first discuss your situation with <a href=\"https:\/\/students.connect.curtin.edu.au\/app\/contact?_ga=2.149157553.665518742.1667780749-1132981394.1611213715\">Curtin Connect<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n        \n<\/mimas-block>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Managing your visa and visa requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"accordion\"\n        role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion content\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n                \n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Student-visa-renewals-\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Student-visa-renewals-\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Student-visa-renewals-\">Student visa renewals <\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Student-visa-renewals-\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>When you first accept an offer for a course at Curtin as an international student you will be issued with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/study\/campus-life\/living-australia\/student-visas\/\">Global Curtin<\/a> to apply for your student visa.<\/p>\n<p>If your student visa expires before you complete your course you will need to request a new CoE. This is so that you can apply for a new student visa with the Department of Home Affairs in order to continue your current course of study.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the following students are <strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0able to request their CoE online.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Higher Degree by Research (HDR) student<\/strong>s &#8211; contact the Student Advisor &#8211; International Student Visas at <a href=\"mailto:iovisa@curtin.edu.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iovisa@curtin.edu.au<\/a> to seek advice on how to obtain a CoE<\/li>\n<li><strong>Students changing to a new course<\/strong> &#8211; you will received your CoE from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/study\/campus-life\/living-australia\/student-visas\/\">Global Curtin<\/a> after you have formally accepted your offer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To request a new CoE online:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oasis.curtin.edu.au\/\">OASIS<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click on the\u00a0<strong>My Studies<\/strong>\u00a0tab<\/li>\n<li>In the quick forms Channel, click on Request for Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) [International Students Only].<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once you have your CoE you are to apply for your new student visa online at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homeaffairs.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Home Affairs website<\/a>. You will need to log into your immiAccount to start the online application.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide evidence of overseas student health cover (OSHC) for the length of your visa directly to the\u00a0Department of Home Affairs. You will have to arrange payment directly with your OSHC provider to extend your current cover. Please see their websites and follow the prompts for Overseas Students for further information and arranging payments.<\/li>\n<li>You may have to provide evidence of a medical check-up within the last 12 months (as medical and x-ray results are only valid for 12 months). Internships, Work Integrated Learning or Work Placements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hours worked as part of internships, work integrated learning or work placements which are a mandatory requirement of your course <strong>will not<\/strong> count towards your student visa work hour limits.<\/li>\n<li>Hours worked as part of internships, work integrated learning or work placements undertaken as electives <strong>will<\/strong> count towards your student visa work hour limits<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Volunteering<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hours spent volunteering <strong>will not<\/strong> count towards your student visa work hour limits, if:\n<ul>\n<li>The work is genuinely voluntary and would not otherwise be undertaken by an Australian resident as employment.<\/li>\n<li>The activities are for a non-profit organisation and no remuneration (in cash or kind) is received in return.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Aged Care Sector Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students already working in the aged care sector on 9 May 2023, can continue to work unrestricted hours in that sector until 31 December 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. You can do that via their website, at their local retail branches, or by contacting them directly via phone.<\/p>\n<p>An Bupa Global Assistance Client Services Representative is available to students in Curtin Connect, Building 102.<\/p>\n<p>The representative can assist you with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OSHC Renewals<\/li>\n<li>How to order or collect a membership card<\/li>\n<li>Cash claims<\/li>\n<li>Claiming<\/li>\n<li>Holiday credits<\/li>\n<li>General information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Client Representative is available at the times shown below. You are required to submit a form to Global Curtin nominating your guardian prior to accepting your offer.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst you are under the age of 18 you and your guardian are required to meet with a Student Advisor from Student Wellbeing as least once every semester. The Advisor will contact you both and arrange the meeting at a time that is convenient.<\/p>\n<p>The meetings are completely confidential and are conducted to ensure your social and emotional well being.
