Exam dates and times cannot usually be changed due to personal commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"accordion\"\n        role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion content\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n                \n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Types-of-exams\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Types-of-exams\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Types-of-exams\">Types of exams<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Types-of-exams\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Curtin uses different exam formats depending on your unit. It\u2019s important to know which type of exam you are sitting, as preparation and rules may vary.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\"><strong>You may have:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\"><strong>Face\u2011to\u2011face exams<\/strong> held at a Curtin campus or approved venue.<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\"><strong>Online invigilated exams<\/strong>, completed online with identity verification and monitoring.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Practicals<\/strong>, such as OSCE, VIVA, Oral, etc.<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\"><strong>School\u2011scheduled exams<\/strong>, arranged directly by your Unit Coordinator and outlined in your unit information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\">Your exam type, date and time will be published in your final exam timetable or advised by your Unit Coordinator.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Before-your-exam\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Before-your-exam\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Before-your-exam\">Before your exam<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Before-your-exam\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <ul>\n<li>Check your <strong>exam timetable<\/strong> as soon as it is released.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm whether your exam is:\n<ul>\n<li>On-campus<\/li>\n<li>Online invigilated<\/li>\n<li>School\u2011scheduled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Read your <strong>Unit Outline<\/strong> for:\n<ul>\n<li>Exam format and duration<\/li>\n<li>Permitted materials<\/li>\n<li>Any additional instructions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Plan to be available for the <strong>entire examination period<\/strong>, including evenings and weekends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Identification-requirements\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Identification-requirements\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Identification-requirements\">Identification requirements<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Identification-requirements\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">You must be able to verify your identity for <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 16px\">all Curtin exams<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">, whether they are face\u2011to\u2011face or online.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\"><strong>Accepted identification<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Your Curtin student ID card (preferred).<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">If you do not yet have a Curtin ID card, you may use an approved government\u2011issued photo ID (for example, a driver\u2019s licence or passport).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\"><strong>Face\u2011to\u2011face exams<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Your ID must be placed on your desk for checking by invigilators.<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Students who cannot verify their identity may not be permitted to sit the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\"><strong>Online invigilated exams<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">You will be required to show your approved photo ID to your device camera as part of the authentication process.<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Failure to verify your identity may result in an exam breach or integrity review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>To find out how                          \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Venues\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Venues\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Venues\">Venues<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Venues\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Face to face examinations, practical and invigilated online exams will be conducted in venues that are conducive to the examination process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Face to face<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are responsible for attending the correct venue for their examination as advised in the final timetable. You will be reminded to check that you are in the correct room at the commencement of every examination. If you do not identify themselves at that time to the invigilator, they may be in breach of the examination regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Invigilators will permit students entry to the venue with sufficient time to be seated prior to commencement. You may complete the cover page of the answer book and the attendance card but will not make notes or write in the examination answer book until advised by the Invigilator.<\/p>\n<p>In all examinations, a Valid Curtin Student Identification will be placed on the desk where it will be visible to Invigilators.<\/p>\n<p>If, for any reason an examination commences late the students will not be disadvantaged. The full reading time and duration will not be reduced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online invigilated exams\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Use a quiet room, that is well lit with limited background noise. No other people should be in the room (this may not be possible if you are taking the test in a public space such as the library for example). You should have clean desk or table, nothing on the desktop except the computer and the authorised material as per the Unit Outline or specified in the disclaimer statement for each test no other electronic devices.<\/p>\n<p>Headwear (e.g., hats, caps, headphones, earmuffs, earpods) will not be worn during an<br \/>\nexamination except those for medical, disability or obligatory religious requirements. Failure to follow these rules may result in misconduct, integrity warning and\/or exam breach.<\/p>\n<p>Do not leave the room during the test unless it is urgently required. Please contact your unit coordinator as soon as possible after the assessment if this was necessary.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Late-arrival-and-early-departure\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Late-arrival-and-early-departure\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Late-arrival-and-early-departure\">Late arrival and early departure<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Late-arrival-and-early-departure\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><strong>Face to face<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will not:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be admitted into the venue after the first hour (including reading time) has expired,<\/li>\n<li>Leave the venue until one hour of the exam has expired,<\/li>\n<li>Leave the venue during the last 15 minutes of the exam,<\/li>\n<li>Be re-admitted to the venue after you have left unless, during the full period of their absence, they have been under approved supervision,<\/li>\n<li>Be granted additional time to complete the examination if you have arrived late.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the event you are unable to complete a final examination due to illness or some other valid reason, you may apply for an Assessment Extension (refer to Inability to Complete a Final Examination procedure), along with supporting medical documents as Exam Invigilators call Curtin Security to escort you to Curtin Medical Facility B109.<\/p>\n<p>You must hand in your examination script with your name and student ID number written on it even if you have not completed any of the paper.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Duration-of-exams-\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Duration-of-exams-\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Duration-of-exams-\">Duration of exams <\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Duration-of-exams-\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><strong>Face to face<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All examination durations will be stated in the Unit Outline.<\/p>\n<p>Face to face examinations will normally be limited to a maximum of two hours duration, but may be approved to a maximum of hours.<\/p>\n<p>Students with a Curtin Access Plan (CAP) will receive approved reasonable<br \/>\nadjustments, including modifications to examination duration, which will take precedence over standard or extended time durations.<\/p>\n<p>There is an optional additional ten minute reading time for each examination in addition to the duration of the examination. If your exam has reading time, you may:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>use this time is to think, plan and organise your response to the examination paper<\/li>\n<li>make notes or highlight text, as directed on the front cover of the examination paper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are sitting a face to face exam, you should arrive at your exam venue at least 20 minutes prior to the exam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Invigilated online invigilated exams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unless specified by accreditation requirements or approved, online invigilated examination\/eTest durations will not exceed two hours and 15 minutes, of which 15 minutes will be allocated for student identity verification and test initialisation purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Students who request an alternative arrangement based on a Curtin Access Plan (CAP) will be managed in accordance with approved reasonable adjustments, which may include modifications to examination duration.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Multiple-choice-answer-sheet\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Multiple-choice-answer-sheet\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Multiple-choice-answer-sheet\">Multiple choice answer sheet<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Multiple-choice-answer-sheet\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>You may be required to submit answers via a multiple choice answer sheet. Instructions will be provided on the answer sheet.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2021\/12\/Alternative-Multi-purpose-answer-sheets.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">information document [.pdf 197KB]<\/a> has been established to assist you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Exam-rules-and-conduct\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Exam-rules-and-conduct\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Exam-rules-and-conduct\">Exam rules and conduct<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Exam-rules-and-conduct\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>a {<br \/>\n    text-decoration: none;<br \/>\n    color: #464feb;<br \/>\n}<br \/>\ntr th, tr td {<br \/>\n    border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;<br \/>\n}<br \/>\ntr th {<br \/>\n    background-color: #f5f5f5;<br \/>\n}<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\">All students are expected to follow Curtin\u2019s exam rules and academic integrity requirements.<\/div>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\">This includes:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Following invigilator instructions at all times.<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Using only authorised materials.<\/li>\n<li class=\"___ccc16d0 fje8fi8 f1ng9h0j f1bwykku f18jd3zf\">Not communicating with others during the exam unless permitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"paragraph-in-scc-markdown-text ___1ngh792 ftgm304 f1iaxwol\">Breaches of exam rules or academic integrity may result in an integrity warning or further review under Curtin\u2019s academic integrity processes.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Further information about the regulations for the conduct of examinations and invigilated tests is available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.curtin.edu.au\/findapolicy\/index.cfm\" rel=\"noopener\">Assessment and Student Progression Manual (Consolidated Policy and Procedures)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you<span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">\u00a0undertakes any action that may be considered potential misconduct the matter may be dealt with as misconduct in accordance with Statute 10 and the relevant Rules.<\/span><\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Headwear\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Headwear\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Headwear\">Headwear<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Headwear\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Headwear (e.g., hats, caps, headphones, earmuffs, earpods) will not be worn during an<br \/>\nexamination except those for medical, disability or obligatory religious requirements.<\/p>\n<p>If an invigilator cannot determine a student\u2019s identity owing to facial coverings for religious reasons, identity can be verified if a private space and same-gender invigilator are available. If the private space and same-gender invigilator are not available, the student will be permitted to continue the assessment and identity verification will be conducted retrospectively.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Mobile-Phones,-Electronic-Devices-and-Other-Aids\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Mobile-Phones,-Electronic-Devices-and-Other-Aids\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Mobile-Phones,-Electronic-Devices-and-Other-Aids\">Mobile Phones, Electronic Devices and Other Aids<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Mobile-Phones,-Electronic-Devices-and-Other-Aids\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Unless explicitly authorised for the purposes of an examination, you will be prohibited from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accessing, being in possession of, or using any mobile phone or unauthorised<br \/>\nelectronic device;<\/li>\n<li>Accessing, being in possession of, or using any device capable of storing information<br \/>\nor connecting with another device;<\/li>\n<li>Accessing, being in possession of, or using any unauthorised notes, software or<br \/>\nmaterials;<\/li>\n<li>Accessing, being in possession of, or using any device capable of communicating with<br \/>\nanother person that are not required for the examination; and<\/li>\n<li>Interacting or colluding with any other person<\/li>\n<li>Wearing a smartwatch or headphones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All prohibited items must be completely switched off using the power down function. If any prohibited item makes a sound, this may result in potential misconduct. Prior to a face to face examination commencing, instructions will be provided to students as to where mobile phones, electronic devices and notes\/materials will be stored.<\/p>\n<p>In possession means on, next to, near or under your desk or chair, in or on your clothing, on your body, or in your wallet or purse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Misconduct, integrity warning and\/or exam breach will apply<\/strong> if you are found to be accessing, being in possession of or using any prohibited devices or materials.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Reporting-errors\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Reporting-errors\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Reporting-errors\">Reporting errors<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Reporting-errors\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><strong>Face to face<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you think there is an error or omission in the examination paper, they may bring this to the attention of the invigilator, who will contact the Unit Coordinator for clarification. No ruling regarding the question will be given by the Invigilator. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the Unit Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If a student thinks there is an error or omission online, they may bring this to the attention of the Unit Coordinator via e-mail.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Online-exams-using-Respondus-Monitor\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Online-exams-using-Respondus-Monitor\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Online-exams-using-Respondus-Monitor\">Online exams using Respondus Monitor<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Online-exams-using-Respondus-Monitor\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Curtin uses Respondus Monitor with Lockdown Browser for remote invigilation of online tests and exams. <span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">If your exam is online invigilated, you must:<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete any required <strong>system checks or practice tests<\/strong> before the exam.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure your device meets the <strong>technical requirements<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Have approved photo identification available.<\/li>\n<li>Keep your camera on for the duration of the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Online invigilated exams are subject to the same academic integrity and conduct requirements as on\u2011campus exams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"How-can-I-prevent-Respondus-from-flagging-my-behaviour?\" class=\"accordion__content\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<p>Make sure your entire face is visible<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure your workspace is well lit\u00a0and that no one else is present or likely to walk past.<\/li>\n<li>Your facial features should always be visible within the camera view.
