This may happen if you inadequately acknowledge resources or collaborate with other students when an assessment should be done individually.<\/p>\n<p>An academic integrity warning is used to assign you an educative action in these situations so you can learn from your mistakes. Academic integrity warnings may also be assigned for not following test instructions, such as not clearly showing your Student ID card or conducting an environment check during the set up for a remotely invigilated test or exam. Creative products include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/gen-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen-AI output<\/a>, webpages, books, articles, theses, unpublished works, working papers, seminar and conference papers, internal reports, lecture notes or recordings, computer files, images or video<\/li>\n<li>Too closely paraphrasing sentences, paragraphs or themes without due acknowledgment<\/li>\n<li>Using another&#8217;s work (including words, Gen-AI output, music, creative or visual artefacts, computer source code, designs, problem solutions or ideas)<\/li>\n<li>In the case of collaborative group projects, falsely representing the individual contributions of the collaborating partners<\/li>\n<li>Submitting work which has been produced by another &#8211; including friends, family, Gen-AI, or a paid contracting service (This is known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/contract-cheating\/\" rel=\"noopener\">contract cheating<\/a>, assessment outsourcing or ghost writing.)<\/li>\n<li>Submitting one&#8217;s own previously assessed or published work for assessment or publication elsewhere, without appropriate acknowledgement (self-plagiarism)<\/li>\n<li>Using language translation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/gen-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen-AI<\/a>, or paraphrasing services (either online or contracted) to disguise original source text (cross-lingual or back translation plagiarism, and spinning)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Cheating\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Cheating\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Cheating\">Cheating<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Cheating\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Acting dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage. Examples include:<\/p>\n<p>Cheating in an exam, test or supervised assessment activity.<\/p>\n<p>Considered Academic Misconduct:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being in possession of unauthorised materials<\/li>\n<li>Having a mobile phone or other electronic device in an examination or testing environment<\/li>\n<li>Copying answers from another person or permitting another student to copy answers<\/li>\n<li>Exchanging notes, talking or communicating with another student in an examination or test<\/li>\n<li>Improperly obtaining prior knowledge of an examination or test paper and using that knowledge in the examination or test or providing that information to a student(s) who are yet to undertake the examination or test<\/li>\n<li>Using assignment help websites or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/gen-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen-AI software<\/a> to answer an exam question<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Considered General Misconduct:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Removing an examination paper from an examination room when it is specified that the paper is not to be retained by the student; storing or sharing an examination paper that was illegally obtained<\/li>\n<li>Disrupting an examination or assessment activity in any way<\/li>\n<li>Impersonating a student in an examination or arranging for another to impersonate, take or complete the assessment on your behalf.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cheating in an assessment or other assessable work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submitting written or creative work which has been drafted or produced by another &#8211; including friends, family, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/gen-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen-AI<\/a>, or a paid contracting service (this is known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/contract-cheating\/\" rel=\"noopener\">contract cheating<\/a>, assessment outsourcing or ghost writing) and claiming authorship for it. This includes:\n<ul>\n<li>Allowing someone or an organisation to draft or complete an assessment task on your behalf<\/li>\n<li>Contracting another person to do the work for you<\/li>\n<li>Purchasing work from another source<\/li>\n<li>Allowing or contracting another to edit and substantially change your work<\/li>\n<li>Unapproved, inappropriate, or undisclosed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/rights\/academic-integrity\/gen-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">use of Gen-AI software<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Collusion\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Collusion\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Collusion\">Collusion<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Collusion\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Where students act together in relation to the preparation or presentation of any assessed item of work in a manner that is dishonest or unfair.
