Warrick Hazeldine is an experienced director, business and community leader. He is long accepted as an expert board-level communications advisor and is recognised increasingly as a business builder and astute investor in his own right.
As Co-Founder, former Chair, and current Non-Executive Director of leading consultancy Cannings Purple, he is an authority in the fields of investor relations, corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions and crisis & reputation management. From Perth Western Australia, Cannings Purple has grown into a substantial PR company that has attracted the worldās largest communications group, WPPAUNZ (ASX:WPP), as a cornerstone investor in recent years.
Warrickās work environment has covered everything from local IPO start-ups to global giants and a range of not-for-profit causes. He exposed the range of his thinking in his 2020 address to graduates of Ā鶹ֱ²„ by spot-lighting societal changes as co-equal with economic movements in what he described as a global revolution driven by the increasing cadence of change.
He identified the key forces accelerating change as:
- The rise of artificial intelligence and quantum computing
- Tectonic shifts in world power centres
- The massive challenges of climate change
- The future of electricity generation and the energy transition, on which every person on Earth was becoming more and more dependent
In Warrickās personal business activities he rates understanding these fundamentals as critical to sustained success, along with meeting evolving social expectations, particularly in respect of business and government. He is a published thought leader on topics such as building and retaining corporate trust and how to grow a business based on a flexible and high-performing work-force.
Among Warrickās credentials as a leader in modern business thinking are the 2018 Curtin Faculty of Business and Law Professional Achievement Award, reflecting āoutstanding accomplishment and a standard of excellence in his fieldā.
Joining Ā鶹ֱ²„ as a member of the Faculty of Business and Law Advisory Council in 2021, Warrick provides insights to the way the business community wants to interact with universities and this is another way he gives back to the community.
A graduate of this faculty, he is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a winner of the Business News ā40 Under 40 Awardā, which recognises the top 40 entrepreneurs aged under 40.
He is a former Chair and former Non-Executive Director of Pilbara-focused lithium company, Global Lithium Resources (ASX:GL1), Chair and Non-Executive Director of clean energy company ChemX (ASX:CMX) and is a Director of Surfing WA, the peak body for surfers in WA.
As a father of two daughters, Warrick is passionate about creating conversations and change focused on diversity and inclusion, with a key focus on a sustainable environment for the benefit of society.
