Join the Library to celebrate International Open Access Week, Monday 23 October to Sunday 29 October.
Open Access Week 2023 is an opportunity to join together, take action, and raise awareness around the importance of community control of knowledge sharing systems. As individuals and as an academic institution, we can play a role in encouraging open research and scholarship, leading to a more free exchange of information around the world.
Here’s some highlights from our Open Access Week schedule:
Various times throughout the week
As supporters of Open Access you will test your skills of deduction to thwart a villain determined to lock away all research at Curtin, and reap the benefits of exorbitant subscription fees that were the bane of researchers a century ago.
Tuesday 24 October
Getting your work published in an open access journal or book can involve high costs – but there are alternatives that won’t cost you a cent and will make your research open and discoverable by Google Scholar.
Online until Friday 27 October
Complete our quiz and score over 80% for your chance to win one of two gift hampers!
