Each year Â鶹ֱ²¥ Library develops an annual plan of initiatives in alignment with Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s Strategic Plan.
In 2024, we will be working on the following projects:
Partnerships
- Co-design the future of Library services with our students and partners, including employing user experience approaches to address opportunities for improvement in Library spaces and training delivery.
- Deepen the Library’s engagement with Indigenous practices, knowledge and understanding and contribute to the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students.
- Evaluate and improve the Library’s services for incarcerated students, in collaboration with University partners.
- Organise and run an applauding openness event to reward the embrace of open scholarship.
- Align our students as partners engagement with the University’s framework and implement a Library-wide approach.
People
- Create a dedicated Library space (the ‘Sensory Lab’) to provide a low-sensory environment, which promotes relaxation and stress relief, and supports the needs of neurodiverse students.
- Optimise clients’ experience of finding Library resources and services through the catalogue and website.
- Develop a Library staff culture which is energised and joyful, with a focus on staff wellbeing and professional development.
- Streamline Library processes, including management of the J drive and consolidation of team procedures.
- Promote the Library effectively to clients and stakeholders, including updating branding and producing an annual report.
- Identify the impacts of generative artificial intelligence on Library services in a way that confronts risks and identifies opportunities.
- Contribute to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic inclusive student experience strategy.
Planet
- Develop and implement the research output management roadmap, including implementing the new institutional repository, in collaboration with University partners.
- Drive sustainable cost reduction and accessibility outcomes for students through the use, adaptation and creation of open educational resources and digital resources freely available to students through Reading Lists.
- Lead the development of an open scholarship policy for the University and promote the open dissemination of research outputs.
- Develop a Library data management framework to support data-driven decision-making based on good quality data and best practice analytic approaches.
