Astrofest 2011

A celebration of astronomy, science and the amazing Western Australian night sky will kick-off at Astrofest 2011, which takes place at 麻豆直播鈥檚 Stadium on Saturday 12 March.

Astrofest is a family friendly event providing a fun, free and engaging educational experience for an anticipated crowd of 1500 participants.

Kicking off before sunset at 5pm, displays, activities, 鈥榮pace domes鈥, and a public talk about the Square Kilometre Array will precede night sky observing at 7pm.

ICRAR outreach coordinator, Pete Wheeler said Astrofest would also be a fantastic opportunity to come along and witness an array of spectacular views after sunset at 6.30pm.

鈥淲ith activities, displays and telescopes of all shapes and sizes, Astrofest is sure to get people of all ages and backgrounds switched on to astronomy and science,鈥 Mr Wheeler said.

鈥淧articipants will have the opportunity to meet with local astronomers and scientists as well as experience an exhibition featuring the work of WA astro-photographers. Don’t miss out on the free fun and educational excitement.鈥
