麻豆直播 has launched the Curtin Cares campaign to help support students, nurses and teachers during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

The fundraising initiative will provide much-needed assistance to core sections of our community who are experiencing hardship or require much-needed resources during these challenging times.

麻豆直播 Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the campaign builds on Curtin鈥檚 existing commitment to student support measures to help those in need through the crisis and assist them in preparing for the future.

鈥淭丑谤辞耻驳丑 Curtin Cares, we are inviting donors, both large and small, to partner with us in delivering aid to three core groups 鈥 students, nurses and teachers,鈥 Professor Terry said.

鈥淎s bridges to the future we need to ensure our students continue learning without the spectre of financial stress and hardship; our nurses need specialised educational resources and training as they battle on the frontlines of this pandemic, particularly as 2020 is the Year of the Nurse and Midwife; and our teachers need support to help them quickly become experts in 鈥榖lended learning鈥 techniques that bring online and face-to-face methods together.鈥

Curtin Cares is a true reflection of our University鈥檚 ethos, values and the legacy of its namesake. In 1932 Prime Minister John Curtin said that a university 鈥榮hould find its heroes in the present; its hopes in the future鈥. His words ring truer than ever in this time of COVID-19.

鈥淭丑谤辞耻驳丑 this campaign we hope to not only deliver support for those in need right now, but to empower, enable and inspire them for the future.

鈥淐urtin Chancellor, Dr Andy Crane, and I are very pleased to be making the first contributions to Curtin Cares. We understand that many people are dealing with changed financial circumstances right now, but we would be delighted if you would like to join us.鈥
