National Science Week at 麻豆直播 will capture the basic elements of science in an open photography competition that offers the chance to win one of five iPad Minis.
The Competition is open to the whole campus community of staff, students, members of the public and photographers at all levels. The winning photographs will be judged on their creativity and ability to uniquely interpret and capture the basic elements of air, earth, water and fire.
The categories suit the diversity of participants:

鈥⒙燬tudent Award for entrants under the age of 18
鈥⒙燩eople鈥檚 Choice Award
Ms Gemma Mullaney, Curtin鈥檚 Geoscience Outreach Officer, said this competition would increase awareness that science really was all around us.
鈥淲hether it is the cup of tea you are drinking, the oven you have just turned on, the ground you are walking on or the air you breathe 鈥� you are interacting with the elements that were the basis of science for some 2,000 years,鈥� Ms Mullaney said.
Participants are invited to submit their entries online via .
Prizes will include five iPad Minis with 32GB wifi for the best student and element categories prizes, while a $100 voucher for Camera House will be awarded for the People鈥檚 Choice Award.
The winner of each category will be decided by a panel of academic judges.
The Competition is currently open and will close Saturday, 3 August. Judging will occur mid-August with the winners being announced 19 August.
Images may only be entered in a single category and no person may enter more than two images per category. All entrants must agree to the terms and conditions (available online) prior to submitting their entry.
