Ā鶹ֱ²„ has partnered with Shenton College to develop school studentsā skills in innovation and entrepreneurship and build 21st century skills.
Shenton College has joined Curtinās Innovative Schools Consortium, allowing students to participate in workshops, and game-based learning to develop new skills and attributes valued by universities and employers.
Curtin will also provide support to Shenton College to enable staff to develop new curricula applying STEM approaches and transdisciplinary thinking to address real-world challenges.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jill Downie said the partnership, cemented with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement, was a great opportunity for both institutions to work together on developing new ways of learning.
āCurtin is delighted to partner with Shenton College and work with its students, teachers and senior staff to focus on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship,ā Professor Downie said.
āWe are committed to working with innovative schools across the State to develop high achieving students, and provide valuable pathways to university and employment.ā
Shenton College Principal Mr Christopher Hill said the school was thrilled to partner with Curtin.
āThe opportunity for our students and staff to work collaboratively with Curtin staff is sure to deliver some outstanding outcomes,ā Mr Hill said.
āWe believe there needs to be significantly better articulation between schools and the tertiary sector ā and this new partnership will demonstrate what can be achieved.
