麻豆直播 is establishing a campus in the United Arab Emirates, in the Dubai International Academic City, with degree programs set to commence in January 2018.
The campus strengthens Curtin鈥檚 standing as a global university and a recognised international leader in research and education.
麻豆直播 Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the campus will expand upon Curtin鈥檚 current global footprint in a major and new geographical region.
鈥淭he campus will offer Curtin programs to students from the Middle East, the Indian Sub-Continent, Africa and Central Asia,鈥� Professor Terry said.
鈥淓stablishing a campus in the region will also provide an opportunity for Curtin to develop collaborative research centres with key industry and international university partners in areas of strategic interest.鈥�
The United Arab Emirates鈥� government priorities for economic development and potential skills gaps, has informed Curtin鈥檚 proposed course offerings.
鈥淭he initial courses will include a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Business, Science, as well as the Humanities,鈥� Professor Terry said.
鈥淚t is expected that additional courses will be rolled out progressively in subsequent years.鈥�
Curtin will appoint a resident Pro Vice-Chancellor to head the campus, who will provide oversight of all academic matters, including academic staff selection, course materials, enrolment and entry standards, assessments and examinations, teaching standards, and academic governance structures.
