Professor Tony Travaglione, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Curtin Business School (CBS), has taken up the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor, Business and Law, in the Faculty of Business and Law, at the University of Newcastle.
Professor Travaglione joined Curtin in 2008 as the Head of School of Management and was appointed to the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor of CBS in 2012.
Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said that during this period Professor Travaglione had made a significant contribution to the University.
鈥淧rofessor Travaglione has led several key projects for Curtin and the Business School, including the establishment of Curtin鈥檚 Law School,鈥 Professor Terry said.
鈥淚n another significant project, the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre was established under Professor Travaglione鈥檚 leadership and delivers outstanding results for Bankwest and Curtin. This was recognised in the recent Business/Higher Education Round Table awards where it was joint winner of the Ashley Goldsworthy Award for Sustained Collaboration between Business and Tertiary Education.
鈥淯nder Professor Travaglione鈥檚 leadership, CBS has also recently been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an honour carried by only the top five per cent of business schools in the world.
