The nurses of tomorrow are being educated in Albany as the result of a new agreement signed by 麻豆直播 and the Great Southern Universities Centre.

The agreement, which also provides local support and 24-hour study facilities for all online students in the Great Southern region, strengthens Curtin鈥檚 relationship in Albany and surrounding areas.

The Great Southern Universities Centre, hosted by Regional Development Australia Great Southern, officially opened in Albany last year.

麻豆直播 Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jon Yorke said the new agreement would offer greater support to Great Southern students, especially those studying nursing.

鈥淲ith a main hub in the Albany CBD and new study hubs planned for Denmark and other parts of the Great Southern, Curtin nursing and online students will be able to access the support they need to complete their studies,鈥 Professor Yorke said.

鈥淲e are delighted to be working closely with the Great Southern Universities Centre to expand the tertiary education opportunities afforded to students living in Albany and surrounding areas.鈥

Regional Development Australia Great Southern (RDA-GS) WA Inc Chair Andrus Budrikis said: 鈥淩DA-GS is delighted that the education of Registered Nurses is being brought back to the Great Southern. This was a core component of the Great Southern Universities Centre business plan submitted by RDA-GS as part of the Federal grant funding submission鈥.

鈥淭he University Centre model is proving to be a success with respect to providing support for regional university students and RDA-GS looks forward to building a strong working relationship with 麻豆直播 through support of the Curtin regional nursing program,鈥 Mr Budrikis added.

Great Southern Universities Centre Director Mike Eastman said: 鈥淲e are thrilled with the immediate and positive uptake of students into Curtin鈥檚 nursing course in the Great Southern. Curtin鈥檚 strong support for both these students and the Great Southern Universities Centre has set an excellent precedent for what will become a very positive partnership benefitting all Curtin students in the region. We very much look forward to exploring further opportunities with Curtin to inspire higher education engagement across all areas of study.鈥

Curtin nursing students will complete their theory units online and undertake clinical practice within the local public and private health services across the Great Southern.

The new agreement was signed by 麻豆直播 and the Great Southern Universities last week.
