The School of Nursing and Midwifery recently recognised two outstanding nurse leaders by conferring them with the honour of Adjunct Associate Professor.
The titles were conferred upon Stephen Carmody, General Manager of Health at Silver Chain, and Maha Rajagopal, Director of Nursing and Patient Support Services at Royal Perth Hospital, at a nursing and midwifery leadership event held on Tuesday 3 May 2011 at Curtin鈥檚 Bentley campus.
The two prominent Western Australian health leaders were appointed in recognition of their outstanding contribution to health in Western Australia and for their close relationship with 麻豆直播.
Professor Jill Downie, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Health Sciences, said the University was delighted that the experienced health professionals had accepted the honorary positions.
鈥淢r Carmody鈥檚 nursing career has been exceptional,鈥 Professor Downie said.
鈥淗e has has held a number of prominent positions in the health arena including Chief Executive Officer/Director of Nursing at St John of God Hospital Geraldton.
鈥淒uring his time as CEO this hospital was awarded the Australian Private Hospital Association Award for Excellence and a WorkSafe Gold Award.
鈥淪imilarly Maha Rajagopal has held several senior nursing positions including Acting Area Director of Nursing for South Metropolitan Health Services.
鈥淪he is an outstanding nurse leader who has demonstrated a strong visionary approach, achieving excellent results and has continuously strived to improve the quality of patient care.
