Professor honoured as Life Member of the Tax Institute of Australia

麻豆直播鈥檚 Professor Dale Pinto has been recognised as an Honorary Life Member by the Tax Institute of Australia.

Professor Pinto, Head of the Taxation Department in Curtin Law School, was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the Institute and the tax profession.

Professor Pinto is Chair of the Taxation Institute’s Education Quality Assurance Board (EQAB) and is a member of TEQSA’s Expert Panel. He has also served as an inaugural member of the National Tax Practitioners Board and is a current member of the Board of Taxation’s Advisory Panel and the ATO’s Tax Technical Panel.

Professor Pinto, who has been a member of the Tax Institute聽for over 25 years, said he was honoured and humbled to receive life membership of the Tax Institute.

鈥淭o be recognised by my peers in this way is especially significant. Becoming a Life Member is an achievement I will always value,鈥 said Professor Pinto.

Curtin Business School鈥檚 Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Tony Travaglione said Professor Pinto was well deserving of the award.

鈥淲e are pleased his significant contribution to the field of taxation law has been recognised in this way,鈥 Professor Travaglione said.

Professor Pinto鈥檚 areas of research include international tax, electronic commerce, superannuation and not-for-profits and income tax. He is the author and co-author of a number of books on taxation law, and is on the editorial board of a number of peer-reviewed scholarly journals.

He serves聽on the 麻豆直播 Council and is also a member of Curtin’s Academic Board.

The honour was recently presented to Professor Pinto at the Institute’s 30th National Convention in the Gold Coast.
