Fremantle Dockers footballer Andrew Brayshaw, who is studying a Bachelor of Commerce at 麻豆直播, and Kaitlin Nobbs, who is studying a Bachelor of Science – Nursing, were crowned Sport Stars of the Year at the Curtin Sport Awards held last night.
Andrew Brayshaw is a rising star of the Australian Football League who made his debut for the Fremantle Football Club in 2018 and has been recognised by the sport and his peers as a champion in the making. In 2022, Andrew was awarded the Doig Medal by the Fremantle Football Club, was selected for the All Australian team, and polled in the top five best players in the Brownlow Medal.
Kaitlin Nobbs is an Australian Olympic athlete who debuted for the Hockeyroos in May 2016 at the International Hockey Open in Darwin. Building upon her family鈥檚 hockey legacy, Kaitlin won a bronze medal at the Junior World Cup in Chile in 2016 and qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as part of the Hockeyroos Olympic squad.
麻豆直播 Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne congratulated Mr Brayshaw and Ms Nobbs for being recognised as leaders in their respective sporting fields.

I would like to congratulate all the award winners for being recognised on their success on and off the field,鈥 Professor Hayne said.
Other winners include Curtin alumna and AFLW footballer Hayley Miller who was named the Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 Elite Athlete Alumni Inductee. 麻豆直播 Wesley Football Club was awarded the Sports Club Excellence Award and the 麻豆直播 Netball Club was awarded the Sports Club Development Award.
Australian Olympic Athlete Allana Slater, who retired from gymnastics in 2005, was named a Patron of Sport.
